You will find that the best trolling speed with the new Lyman Lures is 2.5 to 3 miles per hour.  Flash and light up your lure to maximize the glow and HV features of the lure.  When trolling at 50 feet or more, set your lure at 40 to 50 feet behind the downrigger ball.

If the water is CLEAR and you're fishing at less than 50 feet, put your lure back 100 to 150 feet behind the ball.  DON'T troll in a straight line.  Troll in a wide "S" pattern.  This will vary the action and promote more strikes.

Keep an eye on your fish locater to see what depth the fish are holding and put your lure down 3 to 5 feet above the fish.  Remember, fish look up not down.  As a rule of thumb, BIG fish will track the bottom or very close to it.

When fishing for striped bass you can troll up to 5 miles per hour which will cause your lure to be more sporadic.  Striped bass are very aggressive fish, and they will slam the lure.  Varying your speed from 2.5 to 5 will create more strikes, as well.
